Spring Showers
Inspiration
Spring, to me symbolizes hope, happiness and joy. The flowers that bloom disperses its fragrance to remind us of the beautiful times ahead, to reenergize us for the new beginnings. Corona Virus has clearly dominated our thoughts, it has taken its effect both directly and indirectly, mentally and physically. My heart pounds for those infected, especially to the elderly with underlying health problems and also to all families, home bound.
We are witnessing a fight between the virus and human race, doctors being the brave soldiers, work regardless of time exceptions to save lives, we humans have come together to show collaborative support to the ones in need, social distancing reminded us of family values. These things gives us hope that there’s light at the other end of the tunnel. Hope that we are strong to fight through one of the darkest times on this motherland.
About the look
I chose to wear a dress that symbolizes hope and the bright future to come. This floral dress is a knee length, sleeveless with pastel pink pattern print on it. It was so refreshing to wear, brought out the youth in me. Being home bound myself for over two weeks, I owed my soul something beautiful and this dress did justice. As much as I love heels, I love sneakers too. Unlike my other style quotients to top off a look in pointed tip and pencil heel, I went with sneakers that’s is pearl beaded around the corner with a pastel pink satin finish on the outer side.
To accessorize, I wanted to carry a warm tone handbag and in the unconventional shape. I found this round brown bag from Target at a low cost but never served its purpose until this look. The sling bag came with a wide black strap (as seen in the first picture) which took away the beauty, so I discarded it for the look (thanks the detachable function, well thought through). The shoes and the dress are monotone, choosing a bag in contrast color is a wise choice. Additionally, I wore a simple crystal stud for earrings and crystal rings that falls under the bling category but not too flashy. I kept the neck bare as the dress, shoe and bag spoke volumes. Wearing a necklace could be distractive for this look.
I pulled my hair back, a simple high ponytail complimented the overall even more than a free flowing hair. TBH, I was lethargic to style my hair, so I tied it to think of it later, little did I realize it was an answer to the hairstyle. The outcome came out as sporty yet cute and stylish. It was comfortable, a quick to go look.
Free style hair wasn’t bad after all but it suited more for a cocktail party. Nevertheless, always wear a smile. Spread happiness and joy around this time. Hope you like this look.
